Computer formatting was slight a difficult job especially for users that are not quite familiar in computer operations and formatting. This article will give you some tips that you can use before upgrading you computer.

Backup your important files, this factor will be the most important that you will remember. Before formatting your computer and installing new operating system you must first copy the files on your hard disk into a safe hard drive or burn into a CD or DVD.

You must remember that when you format and install new Operating system in the hard disk the old files will be deleted permanently. Important files like files in the My documents folder, shared document files, email messages and contacts from Outlook Express, Microsoft Outlook, Windows Mail and Windows Live Mail also needs to back-up. All important files that under and saved in the hard disk that has installed with operating system must be copy. Usually

Operating system files installed in the hard disk labeled with Local Disk C. other files also like saved instant messengers files like Yahoo messenger messages, QQ messages, Skype and msn also save in Local disk C, so if you have some important messages in there, better to backup it to avoid losing them when you run a format. Other software applications data and files also save in local disk C, so you need to check first the important data and files that you need to backup.

Prepare the Drivers and Applications software needed. Before running the formatting process you must ready first the drivers and software you might need to avoid delay in your computer formatting and installing process. Computers drivers such as Motherboard drivers, chipset, LAN card drivers, sound card drivers, video card or graphics card driver, printer and scanner installers and other drivers you need to install. You need also to prepare application installers like Operating system, Office applications like Microsoft office applications or open office applications, instant messenger installers, antivirus, internet browsers, pdf readers and other drivers you want to install in your computer.

Manuals and instructions. It is also important to ready all the manuals and instructions in installation of the computer components drivers and application manuals before formatting your computer.
